Community
Judges
For
the fourth year in a row, 100 members of the community will collectively comprise 2 of the 10 judges who will be
sampling this year's fare and deciding on a winner. 50 community judges
will sample the Citrus division, and 50 more community judges will sample
the Celery division - echoing the traditional way that judges
have handled tasting in past competitions.
Community Judging begins promptly at 11:30 a.m., and you can claim you spot on this illustrious and exclusive panel when you stop by the Citrus & Celery tent when you arrive at Taste of Oviedo to get your ticket. Tasting Tickets will be given out on a first come, first served basis, and we are asking for a $3 donation from those who would like to experience the delights of the Cook-Off. Your Tasting Ticket not only gets you a GUARANTEED sample of EVERY dish in a particular division, but it also gives you the power to help decide who wins the cook-off.
The first 100 people to pick upTasting Tickets will comprise our community judge panel, and these community judges will be invited to come through the line to gather samples as soon as the traditional judges have completed their task. After sampling, Comunity Judges will select their favorite 4 dishes, and Seminole County Supervisor of Elections Mike Ertel will collect the ballots and tabulate the results.
Celebrity
Judges
In addition
to our community judges, we will invite 8 celebrity judges,
whose opinions will comprise 80% of each entry's score.
